Epiroc - 2025.YieldPoint -P042

A digital crackmeter with a 10mm range

Used to monitor cracks in rock surfaces using d-Tech firmware, the d-Micro is also used to monitor:

  • Individual or interface cracks structures
  • Cracks in underground mines
  • Cracks in parking garages, dams under rehabilitation
  • Cracks in residential structures subjected to blast vibration and fracking vibration
  • Bridge-deck behaviour
  • Pillars and posts
  • Inductive, non-contact technology for immunity to hostile environments

Long term data logging is possible uisng BluLink or d4BluGateways, resulting in low power usage.

An on-board microcontroller provides temperature compensation, applies a 10-point calibration algorithm, and outputs as ASCII encoded RS485 (9600, 8, N, 1) signal. The output signal can be routinely transmitted over 1,000m/3,000ft of lead-wire.

The d-micro strain gauge is capable of 1 micron resolution over a range of 10mm. The gauge is attached to the structure using the #8-32 threaded rod at either end.
