Peripheral devices periodically poll digital sensors and either store or transmit the data.  For example, SensorSync provides a PDA interface using either an RS-232 link or an IrDA SIR link which enables data to be “beamed” directly to a database on a PalmOS  PDA. SLUG is a miniature, low price data-logger that can store up to 100days of data and runs on a single 9V battery. These solutions cost up to 80% less than similar solutions for analog sensors.

Management of the digital data gathered is simplified because the data already exists in real world units. YieldPoint’s MineScope is a powerful Window based database tool, with exceptional storage, retrieval, filtering and reporting capabilities, and the communications functionality and conduits to retrieve data from peripheral devices such as PDA’s or dataloggers. All data is stored in XML (eXtensible Markup Language), and can be ported across the internet where data can be shared with specialists, consultants and head-office.

The MIU (Manual Interrogation Unit) is a low cost digital readout unit for YieldPoint’s digital sensors. The onboard micro-controller uses proprietary firmware to communicate with the sensors and display data on the LCD in  real world units. As new sensor models become available the firmware can be updated, so that the readout unit will never become obsolete. MIU runs off a 9V battery and displays it’s own battery status directly in Volts. With typical usage an alkaline battery will last longer than 150 days. more

Data-loggers
SLUG is a miniature, low cost and versatile data-logger made possible because digital sensors transmit digital signals that require no processing prior to logging into FLASH memory.   SLUG can be deployed in a few seconds and requires no configuration since YieldPoint’s digital sensors inform SLUG of critical information such as their SensorID, SensorType and the number and type of channels. Battery life at 1rdg/day is over 100 days. A 5 instrument version is coming soon... more
DESTINY/IP
Each DESTINY network comprises a DESTINY Master located at one end of the bus and up to 15 DESTINY Slaves (4 instruments each) configured in a daisy-chain configuration along a 2  twisted pair copper cable. The network can accommodate 60 instruments: that’s up to 600 channels of data. The Network protocol is Modbus ASCII. The DESTINY Master also provides a bridge between the sensor network and existing mine-wide infrastructure...more
Data Management Software - MineScope
MineScope is a PC-based environment for the collection, storage, presentation and distribution of data from geotechnical instruments. It combines a versatile database engine (based around Microsoft Access recordset objects) and a powerful graphing module within a single, integrated, user-friendly Windows based application. MineScope also incorporates the communication objects required to directly import data from peripheral devices such as the SLUG data-logger and Palm OS based SensorSync module...more
