MineScope Database

What is MineScope?

Digital sensors, such as YieldPoint’s direct to digital product-line, present opportunities for more efficient management of geotechnical data  because the transmitted signals  represent data in real world units. This shifts the emphasis away from data-reduction type procedures required for analog sensors, and which are best performed using spreadsheets, towards data storage, retrieval, presentation (i.e. reporting) and distribution, which are tasks that can best be performed using  a database type application.

A tool for data automated data collection, storage and retrieval

MineScope is a PC-based environment for the collection, storage, presentation and distribution of data from geotechnical instruments. It combines a versatile database engine (based around Microsoft Access recordset objects) and a graphing module within a single, integrated, user-friendly Windows based application.

MineScope also incorporates the communication objects required to directly import data from peripheral devices such as the SLUG data-logger and Palm OS based SensorSync module. This enables the implementation of more automated methods of data collection, including remote wireless data collection.

These innovations associated with MineScope are made possible because YieldPoint’s digital sensors provide information in real-world units that require minimal post-processing, and thus can be made immediately available to personnel who consequently can make faster and more accurate decisions with more confidence.
